The Farmhouse at Elk Ridge Pines
The Farmhouse at Elk Ridge Pines sits on 30 private acres outside McArthur, Ohio, and it was the first of our properties we opened to guests after years of bringing our own family out here. If you want quiet woods, a long covered porch, and room to spread out without being on top of the neighbors, this is the one we point people toward. It suits multi-generation trips, small family reunions, and groups who want a single place big enough that nobody has to share a bathroom on day three.

Sleeping and space
Four bedrooms across the house sleep up to eleven guests. Bedroom 1 has a full-over-queen bunk setup that sleeps three. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed. Bedroom 3 has a king. Bedroom 4 has two queens and sleeps four. Three full bathrooms (each with tub or shower and full towel service) mean nobody is waiting in line in the morning.
Amenities
The amenities lean toward staying in. The 8 to 10 person hot tub is the most-used feature year round. The fire pit is the second. The gas fireplace makes fall and winter stays feel like the reason you booked a farmhouse in the first place. The kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking, with a gas stove, full oven, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, both drip and Keurig coffee makers, and a dining table sized for everyone to eat together. Free WiFi runs at 500+ Mbps, which is fast enough for a working remote day or a movie night with the whole house streaming. Air conditioning, central heating, full linens and towels, paper goods, and basic soaps come standard.
Location and nearby attractions
The 30 acres are yours while you're here, with woods, a garden, open fields, and quiet trails for morning walks and wildlife watching. Deer and turkey pass through regularly. Hocking Hills State Park is about a 14 minute drive, which puts Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave (16 minutes), Cedar Falls, Conkle's Hollow, and Cantwell Cliffs all within easy reach. You can hike the state park in the morning and be back at the farmhouse with the hot tub running by mid-afternoon.
Where to eat
For dinners out, Logan and the surrounding area have grown a lot since we started coming here. 58 West in Logan is our usual recommendation for a sit-down meal with a glass of wine. Kindred Spirits is the long-standing favorite for a special-occasion dinner in a historic log house. For something more casual, Pizza Crossing is reliable for a pickup night when nobody wants to leave the porch.
