A house by a river with trees nearby, some with green leaves and others without leaves, under a clear sky.

Lakeside 71

Welcome to Lakeside 71

Lakeside 71 is one of our two lakefront homes on Lake Logan in Logan, Ohio. The big draw here is location. You're a five minute walk from Lake Logan State Park and three minutes by car from the Hocking Hills Regional Welcome Center, which means you can be at the water before your coffee cools or out exploring the rest of the Hocking Hills in under fifteen minutes. Mornings here start slow, with coffee on the deck and mist coming off the lake. By midday you're either casting a line, paddling, or walking down to the State Park beach.

Sleeping and space

Three bedrooms (with a king bed in the primary) sleep up to six guests, with one full bathroom. At 700 square feet, it's a comfortable, well-laid-out lake home built around the view, with vaulted ceilings that open up the main living area so the lake is the first thing you see when you walk in. It works well for couples traveling together, a small family, or a group of friends who want a real lakefront base without the cost or footprint of a bigger property.

Amenities

The deck is the heart of this place. We put a hot tub and a Weber gas grill (with complimentary propane) out there for a reason: sunset soaks after a long day on the trails, burgers going while everyone's still in swimsuits. Outdoor seating fits six. The outdoor fire pit with stone seating is the second favorite spot once the sun goes down. Inside, the kitchen is set up for actual cooking, not just reheating. Lake views run through the main living areas, so even rainy days feel good here. Free WiFi, air conditioning, and onsite parking come standard.

Location and lake activities

Lake Logan State Park is a five minute walk, which gives you direct access to the public beach, fishing, and paddling. The Hocking Hills Regional Welcome Center is three minutes by car when you want maps, recommendations, or a quick stop on the way out exploring. When you're ready for the rest of the Hocking Hills, the state park trailheads at Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, and Conkle's Hollow are a short drive, so you can do a morning hike and still be back at the house in time for an afternoon swim.

Where to eat

For dinner in town, 58 West in Logan is our go-to for a sit-down meal, and Kindred Spirits is the spot when you want a more refined dinner without driving far. If the group wants something casual after a day on the water, Pizza Crossing does the job and nobody complains.
